How to Get 79 in PTE: Section-by-Section Plan for 2026

The test changed on 7 August 2025, and so did Australia’s score rules. Here is what a 79 really means now, which tasks feed each skill, and a practical plan to reach it from Bangladesh.

Quick answer: how to get 79 in PTE

To get 79 in PTE, first confirm whether you need 79 overall or 79 in every skill. Then take an official scored practice test, match your weakest skill to the tasks that feed it, and drill the high-volume items: Repeat Sentence, Read Aloud, Write from Dictation and the Reading blanks. Answer the open speaking and writing tasks in your own words, because memorised material can now score zero for content.

Most students who ask how to get 79 in PTE are not short of effort. They are short of current information. Since Pearson updated PTE Academic on 7 August 2025, two new speaking tasks have arrived, several tasks now feed different skills, and for new tests Australia no longer treats 79 in every skill as Superior English.

That means a lot of the advice still shared in Facebook groups and older blog posts is quietly out of date. Students spend weeks drilling tasks that no longer move the score they need, or they memorise templates that the new human review can mark down.

This guide fixes that. You will see what a 79 means on Pearson’s July 2025 concordance, the official map of which tasks feed which skill, a section-by-section strategy and an 8-week plan for beginners. There is also a free gap checker that shows exactly where your missing marks are, plus local fees and booking options for students in Bangladesh.

Why a PTE 79 Score Is Still Worth It in 2026

A 79 is still one of the most useful numbers on the PTE scale, but its meaning has shifted. Understanding that shift is the first step towards setting the right target.

79 overall still lines up with IELTS 8.0

Pearson publishes a concordance that compares PTE Academic with IELTS Academic. The current version, based on research released in July 2025, treats 79 as the lowest PTE overall score aligned with an IELTS 8.0. In plain terms, a 79 overall tells a university that you perform at the level of an IELTS 8 candidate.

The same table shows something most guides miss: the skill scores do not line up evenly. Listening and Reading reach the IELTS 8.0 band in the high 60s and low 70s, while Writing and Speaking need 85 or more.

On Pearson’s July 2025 concordance, IELTS 8.0 corresponds to PTE 79–85 overall, Listening 69–74, Reading 70–74, Writing 85–89 and Speaking 88–89.

Australia changed what 79 in each skill is worth

For PTE tests taken on or after 7 August 2025, Australia’s Department of Home Affairs sets a separate minimum for each skill. Superior English, which earns the maximum 20 points for English on the skilled migration points test, now needs Listening 69, Reading 70, Writing 85 and Speaking 88.

Superior English for PTE Academic tests taken on or after 7 August 2025: at least 69 Listening, 70 Reading, 85 Writing and 88 Speaking. For tests taken on or before 6 August 2025 the bar was 79 in each skill, and those results may be used until 6 August 2028, depending on the visa.

Source: Australian Government, Department of Home Affairs — Superior English requirements (page updated September 2026)

So what does a new 79 in every skill get you? It comfortably clears Proficient English (58, 59, 69 and 76), which is worth 10 points, and it already beats the Superior line in Listening and Reading. The missing marks sit in Speaking (9 more) and Writing (6 more).

For Australian PR, treat 79 as a floor, not a finish line. For a university application, 79 overall is usually well above the published minimum, which makes it a strong buffer for scholarships and competitive programmes.

Why the stakes are high for students in Bangladesh

More Bangladeshi students study abroad than a decade ago, and every PTE attempt costs real money in taka.

UNESCO recorded 52,799 Bangladeshi students enrolled abroad, roughly 2.2 times the level of a decade earlier, and Bangladesh Bank data show USD 662.2 million spent on education-related services abroad in FY 2024–25.

Source: The Daily Star, 15 September 2025, citing UNESCO and Bangladesh Bank

With the PTE Academic fee at about USD 220, preparing properly once is far cheaper than booking twice. A clear target and a plan built around the scoring rules are what save you that second attempt.

PTE Academic in 2026: Format, Fee and the 79 Score Map

PTE Academic is Pearson’s computer-based English test for study, migration and professional registration. You sit it in one session at a test centre. Your score report shows an overall score plus Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing, each on a 10–90 scale graded against Pearson’s Global Scale of English.

Test format at a glance

  • Part 1: Speaking and Writing — roughly 76–84 minutes, nine task types including the two new ones.
  • Part 2: Reading — roughly 23–30 minutes, five task types.
  • Part 3: Listening — roughly 31–39 minutes, eight task types.

Pearson says the average test still takes about two hours, and its Score Guide lists a maximum of 2 hours 15 minutes. You answer 65–75 questions across 22 question types, and results typically arrive within 48 hours.

Two scoring rules that change how you study

First, your overall score is not an average of the four skills. Many tasks are integrated, which means one answer feeds two skill scores at once. Second, Pearson now double-marks content on seven tasks: Describe Image, Retell Lecture, Respond to a Situation, Summarize Group Discussion, Summarize Written Text, Write Essay and Summarize Spoken Text. A human expert checks the AI’s content score on each of them.

If an answer leans heavily on pre-prepared or memorised material, Pearson treats it as irrelevant: content scores zero, and a zero for content means the whole response earns nothing.

Source: Pearson, PTE Academic Test Taker Score Guide (2025)

Pronunciation and oral fluency are still scored by the AI alone, so a human never judges your accent. But reciting a memorised Describe Image script and hoping for the best is now a real risk.

The 79 score map: which tasks feed which skill

If you are working out how to get 79 in PTE, this map is where your plan starts. The table below follows Pearson’s current PTE Academic scoring guidance and its 2025 Score Guide. Use it to decide where your practice hours go. Older guides often say Read Aloud feeds Reading or that the dropdown blanks feed Writing; under the current guide, they do not.

Two numbers jump out. Repeat Sentence appears 10–12 times and feeds both Speaking and Listening, so it is the biggest single lever in the test. Listening, meanwhile, collects marks from 12 different task types, which is why a weak Listening score rarely improves from Listening practice alone.

What PTE costs in Bangladesh

Pearson sets the fee in US dollars: about USD 220 for PTE Academic at the time of writing. Always check the live price in your myPTE account before you pay, because Pearson can change it. Pearson-approved test centres operate in Bangladesh, mainly in Dhaka, so confirm the current centres and dates in myPTE too.

For many students the real hurdle is payment, because not everyone has a dual-currency card. As a Pearson Authorised Partner, Crack PTE can book your official PTE exam in taka through bKash, Nagad or bank transfer, so a card problem never delays your test date.

How to Get 79 in PTE: Section-by-Section Strategy

Each skill has a different route to 79. Start with the skill that sits furthest below your target, because one weak skill can drag two others down through the integrated tasks.

How to Get 79 in PTE Speaking

Speaking carries the toughest target if you are aiming for Australia’s Superior line of 88. Fluency and pronunciation are scored on every speaking answer, so delivery comes first.

  • Repeat Sentence first. It appears 10–12 times and feeds Speaking and Listening. Repeat in natural word groups, keep going if you miss a word, and never restart.
  • Read Aloud for rhythm. Six or seven items reward an even pace. Pause briefly at commas and full stops, and stress content words such as nouns and verbs.
  • Describe Image and Retell Lecture in your own words. Both are now human-checked for content. Name the main trend or idea, add two specific details, then close with one conclusion.
  • Prepare for the two new tasks. Respond to a Situation rewards a natural, polite answer that solves the problem in the prompt. Summarize Group Discussion rewards naming each speaker’s view and how the views connect.
  • Record yourself every day. Listen back for hesitations, restarts and swallowed word endings. Pearson’s fluency criteria penalise exactly these habits, while its AI is designed to understand different accents, so a clear Bangladeshi accent is fine and a stop-start delivery is not.

How to Improve Your PTE Writing Score to 79

Writing draws on only four tasks, so every mark counts. Two of them sit in the Listening part, which means spelling under audio pressure decides more of your Writing score than most students expect.

  • Write from Dictation: every correctly spelled word earns a point. Type what you hear, check plurals and tense endings, and never leave a sentence blank.
  • Summarize Written Text: write one complete sentence of 5–75 words. Join two or three main ideas with connectors such as while or which means.
  • Summarize Spoken Text: 50–70 words earns full form marks. Capture the speaker’s main point and two supporting details, not every example.
  • Write Essay: aim for 200–300 words with a clear position, two developed body paragraphs and a short conclusion. Original reasoning beats memorised filler now that a human reviews content, structure and range.

How to Achieve 79 in PTE Reading

Reading at 79 is mostly about accuracy in the blanks. The dropdown and drag-and-drop blank tasks together give you 9–11 questions, and every correctly filled blank scores.

  • Read the whole passage before choosing. Grammar (part of speech, tense, singular or plural) removes most options, and collocation decides the rest. Our 21 Reading Fill in the Blanks strategies go deeper on this.
  • Reorder Paragraph scores each correct adjacent pair, so lock in the clear opening sentence and the pairs you are sure of.
  • Multiple choice, multiple answers deducts marks for wrong options. Choose only what you can prove from the text; one confident answer beats two guesses.
  • Remember the cross-skill tasks. Summarize Written Text, Highlight Correct Summary and Highlight Incorrect Words also feed Reading.

How to Score 79 in PTE Listening

Listening collects marks from 12 task types across Part 1 and Part 3. That is good news: it often rises on its own when your Speaking and Writing practice improves.

  • Treat Repeat Sentence and Write from Dictation as Listening training. They are high-volume and feed Listening directly.
  • Answer Short Question now counts for Listening only. Reply with one word or a short phrase, quickly and clearly.
  • Highlight Incorrect Words penalises wrong clicks. Follow the text with your cursor and click only when the audio clearly differs.
  • Fill in the Blanks (type-in) rewards correct spelling of each word, so treat it like a short dictation.

What You’ll Practise in a Crack PTE 79 Plan

  • A diagnostic mock-test analysis that ranks your weak tasks by the marks they cost you.
  • Delivery drills for Read Aloud and Repeat Sentence, with feedback on your recordings.
  • Own-words frameworks for Describe Image, Retell Lecture and both new speaking tasks.
  • Spelling and form control for Write from Dictation, the two summaries and the essay.
  • Grammar-first blank strategies and negative-marking discipline for Reading and Listening.
  • Timed full mocks and an exam-day routine you rehearse before the real test.

The Hands-On Advantage of 1-to-1 Feedback

In a crowded batch, the trainer rarely hears you speak. In a 1-to-1 class, your trainer listens to your recording and tells you exactly why an answer lost marks: a hesitation, a mispronounced word, or a pace that sped up at the end.

The best PTE practice techniques for a 79 score share one feature: fast, specific feedback on your own answers. Our lead trainer has also completed Pearson’s teacher-training course on paraphrasing, which teaches learners to use their own words. That is exactly the skill the 2025 content rules reward.

How to Choose the Best PTE Coaching for a 79 Target

A 79 target leaves little room for generic teaching. Before you pay anyone, ask these five questions:

  1. Will a trainer listen to my Speaking recordings, not just an app?
  2. Is my study plan built from my own mock-test report?
  3. Does the material cover the August 2025 format, including Summarize Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation?
  4. Will they tell me honestly whether I need 79, 85 or 88, and how long that may take?
  5. Are the fees published, and can I pay, including my exam fee, in taka?

PTE Superior English Score, Proficient and Study Targets Explained

These are the targets most of our students choose between. University figures are Pearson’s typical overall minimums; the Australian figures are Home Affairs minimums for PTE Academic tests taken on or after 7 August 2025.

EntryStudy abroad51–60 UG · 57–67 PG

Typical overall minimums for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Each university sets its own, so always check the course page.

+10 pointsProficient EnglishL 58 · R 59 · W 69 · S 76

Worth 10 points for Australian skilled migration. A new 79 in every skill lands here.

+20 pointsSuperior EnglishL 69 · R 70 · W 85 · S 88

The maximum English points. Speaking and Writing carry the hardest jump.

Moving from Proficient to Superior means 11 more marks in Listening and Reading, 16 more in Writing and 12 more in Speaking. That is why a Superior plan spends most of its hours on Speaking delivery and Writing accuracy.

Check the test type too. Pearson positions PTE Core for Canadian permanent residency and citizenship applications, and PTE Academic UKVI for UK work visas and study below degree level. Booking the wrong version is an expensive mistake.

Step-by-Step: How to Get 79 in PTE From Your Current Score

Follow these steps in order. Each one builds on the last, and skipping the first two means practising blind.

  1. 1
    Confirm your exact target

Find out whether your university or visa needs 79 overall, 79 in each skill, or a profile such as 69/70/85/88. Write the four numbers down; they drive everything else.

  2. 2
    Take an official scored test

Sit one of Pearson’s scored practice tests under real timing. Third-party portals are great for daily practice, but their scores are estimates.

  3. 3
    Find your gap

Subtract each score from its target. The largest gap gets the most hours, and the gap checker below does the maths for you.

  4. 4
    Fix delivery before content

Record Read Aloud and Repeat Sentence daily until your speech flows without restarts. Fluency and pronunciation feed every speaking task.

  5. 5
    Lock in the form marks

Hit 50–70 words in Summarize Spoken Text, one sentence in Summarize Written Text and 200–300 words in the essay. These marks are free if you follow the rules.

  6. 6
    Drill the high-volume tasks

Put daily repetitions into Repeat Sentence, Write from Dictation and the Reading blanks. Keep an error log of every word you miss.

  7. 7
    Test, review, adjust

Take a full timed mock every week or two. Change your plan based on the score report, not on how the test felt.

  8. 8
Book when two mocks clear your target

Book once two scored mocks in a row reach your target with a small buffer. Make sure your myPTE name matches your passport, and read our PTE exam day tips before you go.

PTE 79 Score Preparation Plan for Beginners (8 Weeks)

This sample plan assumes about two hours a day and a starting score in the 50s or low 60s. If you start higher, compress it. If your basic English needs work, add a foundation phase first.

WeeksFocusDaily routine
1–2Diagnose and fix deliveryOne scored mock, then daily Read Aloud and Repeat Sentence recordings plus 20 Write from Dictation sentences.
3–4Form and accuracySummary and essay word limits, Reading blanks with grammar notes, and an error log for every miss.
5–6Content in your own wordsDescribe Image, Retell Lecture and both new speaking tasks, plus paraphrasing and Highlight Incorrect Words practice.
7Full timed mocksTwo full mocks, a detailed review, and extra work on the three tasks that lost the most marks.
8Polish and bookLight practice and your exam-day routine. Book once two mocks hit your target.

How long does it take to get 79 in PTE Academic? There is no fixed answer, because it depends on your starting point. As a planning range rather than a promise, allow 4–8 weeks of focused practice if your mocks sit in the high 60s, and two to three months if you start in the 50s. For a shorter schedule, our Pearson PTE preparation guide includes a 30-day version.

Who Should Aim for 79 in PTE Academic?

  • Australia PR applicants: a new 79 in each skill gives you Proficient English (10 points). If you want Superior’s 20 points, push Speaking to 88 and Writing to 85.
  • Applicants with older results: if your test was on or before 6 August 2025, 79 in each skill counted as Superior, and Home Affairs may accept it until 6 August 2028, depending on the visa.
  • Postgraduate and scholarship applicants: 79 overall aligns with IELTS 8.0 and clears most published university minimums with room to spare.
  • IELTS repeaters switching to PTE: the computer-based speaking section suits candidates who freeze in face-to-face interviews.
  • Retakers stuck between 65 and 75: the gap often comes from a handful of tasks, and a task-by-task mock analysis usually finds them quickly.

Final Thoughts

Three things decide whether you reach 79. First, know your real target: 79 overall, 79 in each skill, or Australia’s 69/70/85/88. Second, study the official score map, because the August 2025 update changed which tasks feed which skill. Third, answer the open tasks in your own words, since memorised material can now score zero for content.

Get those right and the rest is disciplined practice: delivery drills, form rules, error logs and timed mocks. That is how to get 79 in PTE without wasting attempts or paying for a retake you did not need. PTE 79 FAQs

Yes, for the overall score. Pearson’s concordance, updated in July 2025, treats 79 as the lowest PTE Academic overall score aligned with IELTS 8.0. Skill scores do not convert evenly, though. An IELTS 8.0 corresponds to PTE Listening from 69 and Reading from 70, but Writing from 85 and Speaking from 88. If a university or employer asks for IELTS 8.0 in every band, check how it converts each PTE skill score before you book.

It is demanding but realistic with the right plan. A 79 needs consistent accuracy across integrated tasks, so one weak habit, such as misspelling in Write from Dictation, hesitating in Repeat Sentence or guessing in multiple-answer questions, can hold back two skills at once. Students with solid English who practise the official task formats, answer open tasks in their own words and review every mock report tend to see steady progress rather than one sudden jump.

It depends on your starting point and the score profile you need. As a planning range, allow 4โ€“8 weeks of focused daily practice if your scored mocks already sit in the high 60s, and two to three months if you start in the 50s, because Speaking fluency and Writing accuracy take longest to move. Use official scored practice tests rather than the calendar to decide when you are ready, and book once two mocks reach your target.

Not for tests taken on or after 7 August 2025. Superior English, worth 20 points, now needs at least Listening 69, Reading 70, Writing 85 and Speaking 88. A new score of 79 in each skill meets Proficient English, which is worth 10 points. If your test was taken on or before 6 August 2025, 79 in each skill counted as Superior, and Home Affairs says those results may be used until 6 August 2028, depending on the visa.

Start with delivery. Pearson scores fluency and pronunciation on every speaking task, so record Read Aloud and Repeat Sentence daily and remove hesitations, repetitions and restarts. Then build content in your own words for Describe Image, Retell Lecture, Summarize Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation, because a human expert now checks content on these tasks. Repeat Sentence appears 10โ€“12 times and also feeds Listening, so it deserves the most practice.

Use structure, not scripts. Pearson’s 2025 Score Guide says answers that rely heavily on pre-prepared or memorised material are treated as irrelevant, which gives them zero for content and no points overall. A simple framework, such as main idea, two details and one conclusion, is fine. Reciting the same memorised sentences regardless of the image, lecture or prompt is the habit that now costs marks, especially on the seven human-reviewed tasks.

Repeat Sentence matters most, with 10โ€“12 items feeding both Speaking and Listening. Next come Read Aloud (6โ€“7 items, Speaking), Write from Dictation (3โ€“4 items, Listening and Writing, scored per correctly spelled word) and the two Reading blank tasks (9โ€“11 questions combined). The August 2025 update also narrowed some tasks: Read Aloud now feeds Speaking only and Answer Short Question feeds Listening only, so older study plans may point you in the wrong direction.

Most Bangladeshi students do not fail PTE because their English is weak. They lose marks because they practise the wrong way: memorising templates, rushing Read Aloud, or taking random mock tests without knowing which skill is pulling their score down.

This guide shows you how to approach Pearson PTE preparation the way the scoring engine actually works. You will see what each part of PTE Academic tests, which score you really need for Australia, the UK or Canada in 2026, and a day-by-day study plan you can start at home tonight.

We also cover what costs money and what is free, how to pick a practice portal, and how to book your exam from anywhere in Bangladesh. By the end, you will know exactly where to spend your next 30 days โ€” and where not to.

Why Getting Your Pearson PTE Preparation Right Matters in 2026

A few years ago, most migration applicants simply needed “65 each” or “79 each.” That changed. Australia now sets a different minimum for each skill, and the bar for Speaking and Writing is much higher than for Reading and Listening.

For PTE Academic tests taken on or after 7 August 2025, Superior English for Australian skilled migration requires Listening 69, Reading 70, Writing 85 and Speaking 88.

Source: Department of Home Affairs thresholds, as summarised by Pearson PTE, 2025

That single change reshapes how you should study. If your target is Proficient or Superior, you cannot treat all four skills equally. Speaking and Writing now deserve most of your time, because one weak sub-score can cost you 10 or 20 migration points even when your overall score looks strong.

The good news is that PTE rewards structured preparation. The test is predictable, every question type follows a fixed format, and you get feedback quickly.

PTE Academic is a single, computer-based test of about 2 hours, and results typically arrive in about 2 days.

Fast results mean a bad attempt is not the end of the world โ€” but at USD 220 per attempt, every retake is expensive in taka. Preparing properly once is far cheaper than booking twice.

What Is Pearson PTE Academic? The Test Format Explained

PTE Academic is Pearson’s computer-based English test for study, work and migration. It tests Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening, but not in four separate papers. Instead, the test has three parts, and many questions score more than one skill at once.

For example, Read Aloud counts towards both Reading and Speaking, and Write from Dictation counts towards both Listening and Writing. That is why some “small” question types have a big effect on your final result.

How the PTE AI scoring engine evaluates you

Each skill is reported on a scale of 10 to 90 (our PTE score chart shows what each band means). Pearson’s scoring combines automated AI scoring with human expertise, so the system judges things a nervous student often ignores: whether you hesitate, whether your pace is steady, and whether your words are clear enough to be recognised.

In practice, this means oral fluency โ€” speaking smoothly without long pauses or restarts โ€” matters as much as a perfect accent. A student who speaks at a calm, even pace with a Bangladeshi accent usually scores better than one who tries to fake a foreign accent and keeps stopping.

PTE Academic vs PTE Academic UKVI vs PTE Core

  • PTE Academic โ€” for university admission and most visas, including Australia and New Zealand.
  • PTE Academic UKVI โ€” the same format, taken as a Secure English Language Test for certain UK Home Office visa routes.
  • PTE Core โ€” built on everyday English rather than academic English, and used mainly for Canadian immigration (Pearson’s PTE Core page).

Booking the wrong version is a surprisingly common and costly mistake. Confirm which test your university or visa route needs before you pay.

What You Will Learn in Pearson PTE Preparation at Crack PTE

Our courses follow the same logic as the scoring engine: fix the high-impact question types first, then build the rest. Every student starts with a diagnostic assessment, so we know where your marks are leaking before we teach anything.

Core topics we cover

  • Speaking: a clear Read Aloud and Repeat Sentence technique, Describe Image and Re-tell Lecture structures that sound natural, and practice for the newer Summarize Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation tasks. Our PTE Speaking tips guide covers the basics.
  • Writing: Summarize Written Text and Essay structures that stay within word limits and still answer the question โ€” plus the grammar habits that cost Bangladeshi students the most. Our PTE writing essay template shows a structure that works.
  • Reading: collocation-based strategies for the Fill in the Blanks tasks, which carry heavy weight in both Reading and Writing. See our Reading Fill in the Blanks tips.
  • Listening: spelling and memory drills for Write from Dictation, one of the highest-value question types in the test. See our Write from Dictation strategy.
  • Exam technique: timing, microphone position, and how to recover when you make a mistake mid-answer.

The practical advantage of 1-to-1 feedback

In a crowded batch, your trainer rarely hears you speak. In a 1-to-1 session, your trainer listens to your recordings and tells you exactly why a Read Aloud answer lost marks โ€” whether it was a hesitation, a mispronounced word, or a pace that sped up at the end.

That kind of specific feedback is difficult to get from an app alone. It is also why we pair classes with real mock test analysis: you see your weak question types in your own score report, not in a generic list.

Common Mistakes Bangladeshi Students Make in PTE Preparation

These are the patterns we see most often when new students take their first diagnostic test with us:

  • Speaking too fast in Read Aloud. Rushing creates hesitations and swallowed word endings. A steady pace almost always scores better than a fast one.
  • Pausing to “fix” a mistake. Going back to correct a word breaks fluency. Keep going โ€” one wrong word costs less than a three-second pause.
  • Ignoring Writing because “it is only two tasks.” With Australia’s 2025 thresholds, Writing targets for Proficient and Superior are higher than Reading and Listening. Weak spelling and grammar in Write from Dictation and Fill in the Blanks pull Writing down too.
  • Memorising templates word for word. Templates help structure, but answers that ignore the actual image or lecture content lose content marks.
  • Taking mock tests without reviewing them. A mock test is only useful if you study the report and change your practice.
  • Booking the exam too early. Book when your mock scores are consistently at target โ€” not when you hope they will be.

How to Choose the Best Pearson PTE Preparation Online Platform or Coach

There is no single right way to prepare. The right choice depends on your English level, your target score and how disciplined you are with self-study. Ask these five questions before you pay anyone:

  1. Will someone actually listen to my Speaking? Speaking is where most marks are lost, and it is hard to judge yourself.
  2. Is teaching based on my diagnostic results? A fixed syllabus for everyone wastes your time on things you already do well.
  3. Is the material updated for the current test format? Newer question types such as Summarize Group Discussion should be included.
  4. Can I see clear, published pricing? You should know what is included before you enrol.
  5. Do they help with exam booking and test-type selection? Choosing Academic, UKVI or Core correctly saves you money.

Be honest with yourself here. If your English is already strong and you need 58, official resources and a practice portal may be enough. If you have already taken PTE once and missed your target, personalised feedback usually gives the biggest jump. Targets for study visas, the UK and Canada

For university admission, the score you need is set by each university and course, not by the government. Check the English requirements page of every university on your list โ€” postgraduate programmes usually ask for more than undergraduate ones.

For the UK, check whether your visa route needs PTE Academic UKVI. For Canada, study permits accept PTE Academic, while economic immigration uses PTE Core. When in doubt, ask before booking โ€” we check this for every student during their consultation.

How to Prepare for Pearson PTE: A 30-Day Self-Study Plan

This plan assumes about two to three focused hours a day. Pearson notes that many candidates prepare for 2 to 4 weeks, but students aiming for Proficient or Superior often need longer. Use your mock test results, not the calendar, to decide when you are ready.

  1. Day 1: Take a diagnostic mock test

Before studying anything, take one scored mock test under real timing. Note your four skill scores and your weakest question types. This is your starting line.

  2. Day 2: Set your target and gap

Write down the exact score you need for each skill. Subtract your diagnostic scores. The biggest gap gets the most study time.

  3. Days 3โ€“9: Fix Speaking fundamentals

Record Read Aloud and Repeat Sentence daily. Listen back for pauses, restarts and rushed endings. Aim for a steady pace before you worry about accent.

  4. Days 10โ€“15: Build Writing and spelling

Practise Summarize Written Text and one essay every other day, staying inside the word limits. Do 20โ€“30 Write from Dictation sentences daily to sharpen spelling.

  5. Days 16โ€“21: Reading and Listening accuracy

Work on Fill in the Blanks with collocations โ€” words that naturally go together. Practise Highlight Incorrect Words and Summarize Spoken Text with active note-taking.

  6. Day 22: Second scored mock test

Compare it with Day 1. Which skills moved? Which did not? Adjust the next week so most of your time goes to the skill that is still furthest from target.

  7. Days 23โ€“28: Targeted practice under timing

Do full sections under exam timing. Practise the newer Speaking tasks โ€” Summarize Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation โ€” until the structure feels automatic.

  8. Day 29: Final mock and booking decision

If your mock scores are consistently at target, book your exam. If one skill is still short, extend the plan by a week rather than paying for a retake.

  9. Day 30: Rest and exam-day preparation

Light practice only. Check your passport, your booking confirmation and your route to the test centre. Arrive early, sleep well, and position your microphone near your mouth โ€” not directly in front of it โ€” once you sit down. Our PTE exam day tips list everything to bring and expect.

Choosing a Pearson PTE practice app, portal and mock test with score

You need two kinds of practice: daily practice with a large question bank, and a few scored mock tests to check your level. They serve different purposes.

  • Official Pearson resources: free materials inside Smart Prep in your myPTE account, plus paid scored practice tests and a question bank. Official scored tests are the best checkpoints before booking. See Pearson’s PTE Academic preparation resources.
  • Third-party practice portals: platforms such as Alfa PTE and APEUni offer large question banks at lower cost โ€” good for daily volume.
  • Buying access from Bangladesh: paying in foreign currency can be a hassle. Through our PTE practice portal service, students pay in taka โ€” Alfa PTE (1 month) Tk 1,200, APEUni (1 month) Tk 2,000, and Official Pearson Practice (1 week) Tk 4,150.

A note on scores: third-party portals estimate your score with their own systems. Treat their numbers as a guide, and use at least one official Pearson scored test before you book.

Who Should Consider PTE Coaching in Bangladesh?

Coaching is not for everyone. It tends to help most if you fit one of these groups:

  • Australia PR applicants aiming for Proficient or Superior English, where Speaking 76+ or 88+ needs detailed feedback.
  • Retakers who missed their target by a few marks and cannot tell which question types caused it.
  • Students switching from IELTS who need to learn PTE’s computer-based formats quickly.
  • Working professionals with limited time who need a plan that fits evenings and weekends.
  • Beginners with basic English who need grammar and vocabulary alongside PTE strategy.

If you already have strong English, a clear target below 65 and good self-discipline, the 30-day plan above with official resources may be all you need.

Final Thoughts on Pearson PTE Preparation

Three things decide most PTE results. First, know your exact target โ€” especially the per-skill minimums if you are applying to Australia. Second, start with a diagnostic test so you study your weak question types, not your favourite ones. Third, protect your Speaking and Writing, because that is where the 2025 thresholds are hardest.

Good Pearson PTE preparation is less about studying longer and more about studying the right things. Follow the 30-day plan, check your progress with scored mock tests, and book only when your results are consistently where they need to be. If you want a second pair of ears on your Speaking, we are happy to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

Pearson says many candidates prepare for 2 to 4 weeks, but your real timeline depends on your current English level and your target score. A student who already reads and speaks English comfortably and needs 58+ can often be ready in 3 to 4 weeks of daily practice. If you need Proficient or Superior English for Australia PR, where Writing and Speaking thresholds are high, plan for 4 to 8 weeks and use scored mock tests to decide when to book.

Yes. Pearson offers free preparation resources in Smart Prep inside your myPTE account, plus paid scored practice tests and a question bank. Self-study works well if you are disciplined and your English is already strong. The main risk is that you cannot easily hear your own pronunciation and fluency problems, which is where most Speaking marks are lost. Many students self-study first and add targeted coaching only for their weakest question types.

PTE is not easier in terms of English level, but many Bangladeshi students find it more predictable. It is fully computer-based, finishes in about 2 hours in one sitting, and results usually arrive in about 2 days. There is no face-to-face speaking interview, which helps nervous speakers. On the other hand, the computer is strict about fluency, timing and spelling, so you must practise the exact question formats. Read our full PTE vs IELTS comparison.

For PTE Academic tests taken on or after 7 August 2025, Australia’s Department of Home Affairs uses per-skill minimums. Competent English needs Listening 47, Reading 48, Writing 51 and Speaking 54. Proficient English (10 points) needs 58, 59, 69 and 76. Superior English (20 points) needs 69, 70, 85 and 88. Every skill must meet the minimum, so always confirm the current figures with Home Affairs before you book.

The PTE Academic, UKVI and Core fee is set by Pearson in US dollars and is currently listed at USD 220. Pearson can change the fee, so always check the price on the official test centres and fees page before you pay. Payment is made by international card. Crack PTE also offers an exam booking service for Bangladeshi students at Tk 25,500, which covers booking and exam support. Our PTE exam fee guide breaks down the full cost.

There is no single best option. Pearson’s official scored practice tests give the score prediction closest to the real exam’s scoring engine, so use them as checkpoints. Third-party portals such as Alfa PTE and APEUni are cheaper and have large question banks, which makes them good for daily practice. A practical mix is daily practice on one portal and one or two official scored mock tests before you book your exam date.

PTE test centres in Bangladesh are in Dhaka, so candidates from Chattogram, Sylhet, Rajshahi or Khulna usually travel to Dhaka. Check the current centre list in your myPTE account before you book. You choose the centre, date and time when you book on the official Pearson website. During busy admission seasons, popular dates can fill several weeks ahead, so book as soon as your mock test scores are consistently at your target.

Official PTE Rescore Process: Step-by-Step Guide & Refund Details

Complete Guide: Official PTE Rescore Process, Success Rate & Fee Refund Policy (2026)

Quick Answer: To submit a request for the PTE rescore process, candidates must contact Pearson VUE Customer Support within 14 calendar days of their score report issuance. Rescoring applies exclusively to human-evaluated modules (Speaking and open-ended Writing). If any score changes after human evaluation, Pearson grants a 100% full refund of the rescore fee.

1. What is an Official PTE Rescore?

Receiving a PTE Academic score that misses your university or visa target by just 1 or 2 points can be immensely frustrating. In such scenarios, test-takers often consider whether they should rebook the test or request a formal re-evaluation through an Official PTE Rescore service.

A PTE rescore is a formal review request submitted to Pearson VUE to have your spoken and open-ended written responses re-evaluated by certified human evaluators.
Step-by-step guide on how to apply for PTE rescore and refund policy

Machine Scoring vs. Human Evaluation

PTE Academic relies primarily on automated AI scoring. However, the rescore mechanism focuses strictly on test items where human judgment applies:

  • Speaking Section: Spoken responses (Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Describe Image, Retell Lecture) are re-evaluated by human raters for pronunciation, fluency, and content.
  • Writing Section: Open-ended items (Summarize Written Text and Write Essay) are re-evaluated for grammar, structure, and vocabulary.
  • Reading & Listening Sections: These sections consist of objective items (multiple choice, fill in the blanks) scored automatically; they are not eligible for rescoring.

2. Step-by-Step: How to Apply for PTE Rescore

If you are wondering how to apply for PTE rescore, you must strictly adhere to Pearson’s formal procedure.

Step 1: Confirm Eligibility Requirements

Before reaching out to support, verify the following criteria:

  • 14-Day Window: Your rescore request must be initiated within 14 calendar days from the date your score report was issued.
  • Most Recent Attempt: Only your most recent PTE Academic exam can be rescored.
  • No Active Rebooking: Booking a new test attempt prior to rescoring invalidates your rescore request.

Step 2: Contact Pearson VUE Customer Service

Rescore requests cannot be submitted via your standard candidate portal dashboard. You must get in touch directly via Pearson VUE Official Support through chat or regional telephone support.

Step 3: Pay the Processing Fee

State clearly to the support agent that you want to initiate a rescore. They will generate a secure payment link. The fee typically equals approximately 50% of the original exam fee depending on your location.

Step 4: Await Human Evaluation Results

Once payment is confirmed, certified evaluators review your open-ended responses. Updated results are sent via email within 3 to 14 business days.

3. PTE Rescore Fee Structure and 100% Refund Policy

Understanding the financial aspect helps you make an informed decision:

Feature Policy Details
Application Fee Regional variable (approx. 50% of exam fee).
Refund Terms 100% Refunded if any score (Overall or Communicative) changes.
Non-Refund Terms Non-refundable if all scores remain identical.
Payout Duration Credited back to original payment method within 5โ€“7 business days after decision.

To learn more about fee breakdowns and eligibility checks, review the PTE rescore eligibility and refund policy.

4. What is the Real PTE Rescore Success Rate?

Because Pearsonโ€™s AI algorithm is highly calibrated, overall score changes are rare. However, understanding when a rescore works increases your chances of success.

High Likelihood of Score Change:

  1. You missed your target score by 1 to 2 points in Speaking or Writing.
  2. You experienced minor microphone or audio recording anomalies during Speaking.
  3. You are 100% confident that your essay structure and vocabulary met high standards.

Low Likelihood of Score Change:

  1. Your score deficit is in Reading or Listening.
  2. You missed your target by 5 points or more.

5. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can my score decrease after a rescore?

Yes. Human re-evaluation can result in an increased score, a decreased score, or an unchanged score. The rescored result permanently replaces your previous score.

How long does a PTE rescore take?

Most requests are processed within 3 to 14 business days.

Should I rebook or request a rescore?

If you missed your required score by 1โ€“2 points in Speaking or Writing, requesting a rescore is cost-effective due to the 100% refund policy. If the gap is wider, rebooking the exam is advisable.

Final Recommendation

If you are confident in your exam performance and need a minor score boost in Speaking or Writing, submit your application before the 14-day window closes. Make sure to apply for official PTE rescore guidance to maximize your chances of getting the score you deserve.

PTE Reading Fill in the Blanks Tips: 21 Expert Strategies

PTE Reading Fill in the Blanks Tips: The Complete Guide to Achieving a Higher Score

The PTE Reading Fill in the Blanks task is one of the most important question types in the PTE Academic exam. It assesses your vocabulary, grammar, collocations, and reading comprehension simultaneously. Many candidates find this task challenging because every blank requires you to understand the context rather than simply recognize individual words.

The good news is that this skill can be improved through consistent practice and the right strategies.

In this guide, you’ll learn expert tips, understand how the task is scored, avoid common mistakes, and discover practical techniques to improve your accuracy and confidence.

What Is the PTE Reading Fill in the Blanks Task?

In this task, you’ll read a passage containing several missing words. Your objective is to choose the most appropriate word for each blank from the available options.

This question type evaluates your ability to:

  • Understand the overall meaning of a passage.
  • Recognize grammatical structures.
  • Identify correct collocations.
  • Use contextual clues.
  • Select vocabulary that fits naturally.

Success depends on understanding the complete sentenceโ€”not just the missing word.

Always choose the option that matches the sentence’s meaning.

  • An adverb?
  • A preposition?

Grammar often eliminates incorrect options quickly.

4. Learn Common Collocations

Examples

  • Make a decision

After selecting a word, reread the sentence.

Does it sound natural?

If not, reconsider your choice.

9. Don’t Translate into Your Native Language

Thinking directly in English improves comprehension and saves valuable time.

Consistent practice builds familiarity with:

Even 20 minutes a day can produce noticeable improvement.

Mock exams simulate real testing conditions.

They improve:

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Ignoring Context

Choosing a word based only on its meaning often leads to incorrect answers.

Reading Too Quickly

Fast reading increases careless mistakes.

Weak Vocabulary

Limited vocabulary reduces your ability to recognize appropriate word choices.

Memorizing Instead of Understanding

Focus on understanding sentence meaning rather than memorizing answers.

Poor Time Management

Spending too long on one question affects the remaining tasks.

Best Practice Strategy

Read the entire passage.

Step 2

Identify grammar clues.

Step 3

Determine the required part of speech.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I improve my PTE Reading Fill in the Blanks score?

Practice daily, improve your vocabulary, study collocations, strengthen your grammar, and complete regular mock tests under timed conditions.

Are grammar and vocabulary equally important?

Yes. Grammar helps identify the correct word form, while vocabulary helps determine the most appropriate meaning within the context.

Should I guess if I’m unsure?

If you cannot confidently determine the answer after considering the context and grammar, choose the most suitable option and continue. Avoid spending excessive time on a single blank.

What vocabulary should I study?

Focus on academic vocabulary related to education, science, technology, business, health, and environmental topics, as these frequently appear in the PTE Academic exam.

How often should I practice?

Aim to practice Reading Fill in the Blanks several times a week. Consistent exposure to academic texts and vocabulary is more effective than occasional intensive study.

Final Thoughts

By applying the strategies outlined in this guide and practicing regularly, you’ll improve both your reading accuracy and your overall PTE performance. Stay consistent, review your mistakes, and focus on steady improvement to move closer to your target score.

PTE Writing Essay Template to Score Higher in 2026

PTE Writing Essay Template: A Complete Guide to Writing a High-Scoring Essay

Writing a strong essay in the PTE Academic exam can feel challenging, especially if English is not your first language. Many test takers struggle with organizing ideas, managing time, and maintaining grammatical accuracy under exam pressure.

The good news is that you don’t need to memorize hundreds of essays to achieve a high score. Instead, learning a well-structured PTE Writing Essay Template can help you organize your thoughts quickly, improve coherence, and write confidently within the time limit.

In this guide, you’ll learn a proven essay template, understand the official scoring criteria, avoid common mistakes, and discover practical strategies to improve your writing performance.

What Is the PTE Writing Essay Task?

The Essay task is part of the Writing section in the PTE Academic exam.

You will typically:

  • Receive one essay question.
  • Write an essay between 200 and 300 words.
  • Complete the task in approximately 20 minutes.
  • Present your opinion or discuss an issue using logical arguments and examples.

The scoring system evaluates more than your ideas. It also considers grammar, vocabulary, spelling, organization, coherence, and written discourse.

Why Use a PTE Writing Essay Template?

Using a structured template helps you write faster while maintaining a logical flow.

Benefits of Using an Essay Template

  • Saves valuable exam time.
  • Reduces stress during the test.
  • Improves essay organization.
  • Helps maintain coherence.
  • Prevents missing important sections.
  • Makes proofreading easier.

A template should guide your writingโ€”not replace your own ideas. Examiners reward clear, relevant, and well-developed responses.

Recommended PTE Writing Essay Structure

The following structure works well for most opinion, discussion, and argumentative essay questions.

Section Recommended Length
Introduction 35โ€“45 words
Body Paragraph 1 70โ€“80 words
Body Paragraph 2 70โ€“80 words
Conclusion 30โ€“40 words

Keeping your essay within 200โ€“300 words allows you to explain your ideas without unnecessary repetition.

Sample Essay Using the Template

Essay Question

Some people believe that technology has improved education, while others think it has created more distractions. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Sample Answer

Technology has transformed many aspects of modern education. Although some people argue that digital devices create distractions, I believe technology has greatly improved learning by providing easier access to information and interactive educational resources.

One major advantage of technology is that students can access high-quality learning materials anytime and anywhere. Online courses, educational videos, and digital libraries allow learners to study at their own pace. This flexibility makes education more accessible and efficient.

On the other hand, excessive use of social media and entertainment platforms can reduce students’ concentration. However, these distractions are usually the result of poor time management rather than technology itself. With proper discipline, students can benefit from technology while minimizing unnecessary interruptions.

In conclusion, although technology may introduce certain distractions, its positive impact on education is far greater. Responsible use of digital tools can significantly enhance learning outcomes and prepare students for future success.

  • Forgetting to proofread.
  • Adding unrelated examples.

What is the ideal essay length?

Aim for 200โ€“300 words, as recommended for the PTE Academic essay task.

How many paragraphs should my essay have?

A clear four-paragraph structureโ€”introduction, two body paragraphs, and conclusionโ€”is effective for most essay topics.

Memorizing complete essays is not recommended. Learning a flexible structure is much more effective because essay topics vary.

How can I improve my essay score?

Practice regularly, expand your vocabulary, improve grammar accuracy, write timed essays, and review feedback to identify areas for improvement.

Final Thoughts

A reliable PTE Writing Essay Template can help you write with confidence, save time, and organize your ideas more effectively during the exam. While a template provides structure, your success ultimately depends on presenting clear arguments, using accurate grammar, and staying focused on the essay prompt.

The best way to improve is through consistent practice. Write essays on different topics, review your mistakes, and refine your writing skills over time. With the right preparation and a well-organized approach, you’ll be better equipped to achieve your target PTE score.

PTE Exam Day Tips: 25 Proven Strategies to Boost Your Score

PTE Exam Day Tips: 25 Proven Strategies to Maximize Your Score

Preparing for the PTE Academic exam takes weeks or even months of practice. However, your performance on the actual exam day depends on more than just your English skills. Good preparation, smart time management, and staying calm can significantly improve your final score.

In this guide, you’ll learn 25 practical PTE exam day tips used by successful test takers. Whether you’re aiming for PTE 50, 65, 79, or 90, these strategies will help you avoid common mistakes and perform with confidence.

Why Exam Day Preparation Matters

Many candidates lose valuable marks because they:

  • Arrive late
  • Feel nervous
  • Skip instructions
  • Speak too softly
  • Mismanage their time
  • Panic after making one mistake

The PTE Academic exam is computer-based and AI-scored. Staying focused throughout the test is just as important as knowing the correct answers.

Before You Leave Home

1. Check Your Passport

Your passport must be valid and match the information used during registration.

Without proper identification, you may not be allowed to take the test.

2. Sleep Well

Aim for 7โ€“8 hours of sleep before your exam.

Avoid staying up late to revise vocabulary or practice mock tests.

A fresh mind performs much better than a tired one.

3. Eat a Balanced Meal

Choose foods that provide steady energy.

Good options include:

  • Eggs
  • Oatmeal
  • Fruit
  • Whole-grain bread
  • Yogurt

Avoid excessive sugar or energy drinks that may cause energy crashes.

4. Reach the Test Center Early

Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early.

This gives you enough time for:

  • Identity verification
  • Security checks
  • Locker storage
  • Relaxing before the exam starts

What to Bring

Bring only the essentials:

  • Valid passport
  • Water (if permitted outside the testing room)
  • Comfortable clothing

Most personal belongings, including phones and smartwatches, must be stored in a locker.

Stay Calm During Check-In

Security procedures may include:

  • Photograph
  • Palm vein scan
  • Signature verification

These are routine procedures, so don’t let them increase your stress.

PTE Speaking Tips

Speaking contributes to both your Speaking and Listening scores.

5. Speak Clearly

Don’t rush.

Instead:

  • Maintain a natural pace.
  • Pronounce words clearly.
  • Avoid mumbling.

The AI scoring system recognizes clear pronunciation better than fast speech.

6. Maintain a Steady Volume

Speak loudly enough for the microphone to capture your voice.

Avoid:

  • Whispering
  • Shouting
  • Moving too far away from the microphone

7. Don’t Pause Too Long

Long pauses can reduce fluency scores.

If you forget a word:

Keep speaking naturally instead of stopping.

8. Ignore Other Candidates

Everyone speaks simultaneously.

The room may sound noisy.

Stay focused on your own microphone.

9. Start Speaking Immediately

Most speaking questions have a short preparation time.

Be ready to begin as soon as recording starts.

Listening Tips

10. Wear Your Headset Correctly

Adjust your headset before the exam begins.

Comfort improves concentration during listening tasks.

11. Take Notes Efficiently

Write only:

  • Keywords
  • Numbers
  • Names
  • Dates

Avoid writing complete sentences.

12. Stay Focused Until the End

Important information often appears in the final sentence of the audio.

Don’t lose concentration early.

Reading Tips

13. Manage Your Time

Reading questions vary in difficulty.

Don’t spend too much time on one question.

Move forward and return later if necessary.

14. Read for Meaning

Instead of translating every word,

identify:

  • Main idea
  • Supporting details
  • Keywords

15. Use Context

For Fill in the Blanks,

understand the surrounding sentence before choosing the answer.

Grammar and collocations matter.

Writing Tips

16. Follow a Template

Using a structured essay format saves time and reduces mistakes.

Your template should include:

  • Introduction
  • Body paragraphs
  • Conclusion

17. Proofread Quickly

Reserve one minute to check:

  • Grammar
  • Spelling
  • Missing words
  • Capitalization
  • Punctuation

18. Don’t Write Too Much

Quality matters more than quantity.

Stay within the recommended word limit.

Time Management Tips

19. Keep Moving

Don’t let one difficult question affect the rest of the exam.

Every question carries an opportunity to earn marks.

20. Stay Positive After Mistakes

Many candidates believe one poor answer ruins the entire exam.

It doesn’t.

Recover immediately and focus on the next task.

Technical Tips

21. Check Your Microphone

Complete the microphone test carefully.

Speak naturally during the test.

22. Learn the Keyboard Shortcuts

Useful shortcuts include:

Shortcut Function
Ctrl + C Copy
Ctrl + V Paste
Ctrl + X Cut
Ctrl + A Select All

These shortcuts can save valuable seconds in writing tasks.

Mental Preparation

23. Control Your Breathing

Before difficult questions:

Take one slow breath.

This helps reduce anxiety.

24. Trust Your Preparation

If you’ve completed practice tests consistently,

you already have the skills needed.

Avoid second-guessing yourself.

25. Finish Strong

Many candidates become mentally tired during the Listening section.

Stay focused until the final question.

Every point matters.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Arriving late
  • Speaking too quietly
  • Memorizing answers without understanding them
  • Ignoring spelling
  • Spending too much time on one question
  • Panicking after mistakes
  • Skipping practice tests
  • Not checking the microphone
  • Reading too fast
  • Losing focus during listening tasks

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring to the PTE exam?

Bring a valid passport. Personal items like phones and smartwatches are typically stored in lockers during the test.

Yes. Test centers generally provide erasable note boards or scratch paper (depending on the center’s setup) and a marker for note-taking.

What happens if I make a mistake while speaking?

Keep speaking naturally. Long pauses or restarting repeatedly can affect your fluency score more than a small mistake.

How early should I arrive at the test center?

Aim to arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment to complete check-in without rushing.

Is the PTE exam difficult?

The exam is challenging, but consistent practice, familiarity with the question types, and good exam-day strategies can significantly improve your performance.

Use these exam-day tips alongside regular mock tests and targeted practice for each question type. The more familiar you are with the exam environment, the more confident you’ll feel on test day.

If you are planning to study in Australia, Canada, or the UK โ€” or applying for a skilled migration visa โ€” you already know that your PTE Academic score can make or break your application. But here is the part most students do not hear until it is too late: the coaching you choose matters more than the hours you put in. The wrong approach wastes months. The right one gets you to your target score efficiently.

This guide covers the top 10 PTE coaching options in Dhaka and Bangladesh, what separates truly effective programmes from the crowd, and why Crack PTE consistently produces the results that other institutes promise but rarely deliver. Why PTE Academic Is the Smart Choice for Bangladeshi Students in 2026

Before discussing coaching, it helps to understand why so many Bangladeshi students are choosing PTE Academic over IELTS. The differences are significant โ€” and for many test-takers, they are decisive.

PTE Academic is a fully computer-based, AI-scored English proficiency test developed by the Pearson PLC Group. There is no human examiner in the room, no subjective assessment, and no waiting weeks for results. This matters enormously for anyone on a tight visa or university application deadline.

PTE Academic is accepted by over 3,900 universities and institutions across 70+ countries, including Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, the United States, and Ireland. It is also recognised for Australian and UK skilled migration visa applications.

Source: Pearson PTE Official Website, 2026

For Bangladeshi applicants specifically, PTE offers three advantages that IELTS simply cannot match. First, results are delivered within 48 hours of taking the test โ€” compared to 13 days for IELTS. Second, because scoring is entirely AI-based, there is no human bias in Speaking assessment. Third, students who struggle to score above IELTS 5.5 frequently achieve the equivalent of IELTS 6.5 (PTE 58) with the right PTE-specific technique โ€” because the two tests reward very different skills.

Coaching fees in Bangladesh typically range from BDT 5,000 to BDT 15,000 depending on the provider and programme type. The PTE Academic exam fee is USD 220 (approximately BDT 26,000โ€“28,000) at current exchange rates.

What Is the PTE Academic Exam? Format, Scoring & What Matters

PTE Academic is a four-section, computer-based test that measures your Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening skills through integrated tasks. The entire test takes approximately three hours and is administered at Pearson-approved test centres or via PTE at Home.

Exam Format at a Glance

Pearson updated the PTE Academic format in 2024โ€“2025. The exam now has 4 separate sections, with Speaking and Writing split into distinct parts. Two new Speaking task types have also been introduced.

  • Part 1 โ€” Speaking: Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Describe Image, Retell Lecture, Answer Short Question, Summarize Group Discussion, Respond to a Situation
  • Part 2 โ€” Writing: Summarise Written Text, Essay Writing
  • Part 3 โ€” Reading: Fill in the Blanks (Dropdown), Multiple Choice (Multiple), Re-order Paragraphs, Fill in the Blanks (Drag and Drop), Multiple Choice (Single)
  • Part 4 โ€” Listening: Summarise Spoken Text, Multiple Choice (Multiple), Fill in the Blanks, Highlight Correct Summary, Multiple Choice (Single), Select Missing Word, Highlight Incorrect Words, Write from Dictation

PTE Scoring: How AI Evaluates Your Performance

PTE uses an automated AI scoring engine developed by Pearson. This engine evaluates pronunciation, fluency, content accuracy, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and written discourse. Understanding exactly what the AI scores โ€” and what it ignores โ€” is where most coaching programmes fail their students. Crack PTE’s training is built around this AI scoring logic from the ground up.

PTE scores range from 10 to 90 for each communicative skill. Most Australian immigration visa pathways require a minimum score of 65 overall, while maximum points migration streams often require 79 in each individual skill.

PTE Exam Fee in Bangladesh 2026

The official PTE Academic exam fee in Bangladesh is USD 220 (approximately BDT 26,000โ€“28,000) at current exchange rates. There is an additional late booking surcharge if you register within 48 hours of your exam date. Crack PTE offers full PTE registration assistance in Bangladesh โ€” including account creation, date selection, and seat booking โ€” at no additional service charge to enrolled students.

What You Will Learn at Crack PTE: Inside Bangladesh’s Only Pearson Certified Programme

Crack PTE is not a coaching centre with a building and batch classes. It is something more valuable: a fully personalised, one-to-one private coaching programme led exclusively by Showkat Chowdhury โ€” the only trainer in Bangladesh who holds Pearson certifications across all four PTE modules.

Core Topics Covered

  • PTE Speaking (Part 1 โ€” 7 task types): Read Aloud pacing, Repeat Sentence technique, Describe Image framework, Re-tell Lecture structuring, Answer Short Question, Summarize Group Discussion, Respond to a Situation โ€” all task types covered including the newest additions to the format
  • PTE Writing (Part 2): Summarise Written Text formula, Essay templates, grammar accuracy for AI scoring
  • PTE Reading (Part 3): Fill in the Blanks (Dropdown + Drag and Drop), Re-order Paragraphs, Multiple Choice โ€” time management under exam conditions
  • PTE Listening (Part 4): Write from Dictation technique, Highlight Incorrect Words speed method, Summarise Spoken Text structuring, Select Missing Word
  • AI Scoring Logic: What Pearson’s engine rewards and penalises โ€” the single most important knowledge gap in the market
  • Mock Tests: AI-evaluated practice tests with results within 24 hours โ€” identical to real exam conditions

The One-to-One Advantage: Why Batch Classes Cannot Compete

In a group class of 10โ€“15 students, your teacher is managing 10โ€“15 different problems. Your specific pronunciation issue, your particular grammar weakness, your score bottleneck โ€” these do not get addressed. In one-to-one coaching with Showkat Sir, every single class is built around your current level and your target score.

This is why Crack PTE students consistently reach their target score in 12 classes when other students spend months in group programmes and still fall short. The method is efficient precisely because it is personal.

How to Choose the Best PTE Coaching Centre in Bangladesh: 5 Questions to Ask

The PTE coaching market in Bangladesh has grown considerably over the past few years. Not all programmes are equal โ€” and some make promises their results simply do not support. Before you spend your money and your time, ask these five questions of any coaching provider you are considering.

  • Does the trainer hold any Pearson certification? Pearson certifies trainers who complete official modules on exam structure, scoring, and pedagogy. Very few trainers in Bangladesh hold even a single certification. Crack PTE’s trainer holds six.
  • Is the coaching one-to-one or in a group? Group classes are cheaper for the provider to run, not better for your score. If you have a specific score target, you need personalised attention to your specific weaknesses.
  • Does the programme explain AI scoring logic? PTE is graded by a machine. Your trainer must understand how that machine works โ€” not just the test format, but the scoring algorithm behind it. Most do not.
  • Does the programme provide dedicated support beyond class hours? The best coaching programmes offer homework review, mock test analysis, and responsive feedback between sessions โ€” not just live class time.
  • Can students from outside Dhaka join? A fully online programme is essential for nationwide access. Check whether the programme is genuinely online or simply offers occasional Zoom calls on top of a physical centre.

Career & Life Opportunities After Achieving Your Target PTE Score

A strong PTE score is not just a test result โ€” it is a passport to visa approvals, university acceptances, and career pathways that would otherwise be closed. Here is what becomes possible once you achieve your target score, broken down by the stage of your journey.

๐ŸŽ“ University Applicants

You need a PTE score for a specific university in Australia, Canada, or the UK. You have a deadline and cannot afford to retake the exam multiple times.

โœˆ๏ธ Migration Applicants

You are applying for an Australian skilled migration visa and need 79 in each communicative skill for maximum points in the EOI. Every point matters.

๐Ÿ” Repeat Test-Takers

You have already taken the PTE or IELTS and did not reach your target score. You need to understand specifically why and fix it โ€” not just study harder.

โฑ๏ธ Busy Professionals

You have a job or other commitments and cannot attend fixed batch classes. You need a flexible schedule that works around your life, not the other way around.

๐Ÿ™๏ธ Outside Dhaka

You are in Chittagong, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna, Comilla, or any other city and want access to the same quality coaching as students in Dhaka.

๐Ÿ“Š High-Score Chasers

Your current English is reasonable but you know technique and AI-scoring logic are what will push you from 65 to 79+. You want expert-level guidance, not generic tips.

Crack PTE โ€” Bangladesh’s Most Trusted Online PTE Coaching Programme

There are several PTE coaching providers in Bangladesh. Only one is led by a trainer who holds official Pearson certifications across all four test modules. That difference is not a marketing claim โ€” it is a verifiable, documented fact. When you learn from someone who has been certified by Pearson itself on Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening, you are getting insights that come directly from the organisation that built the exam. Pearson publishes its own official teacher certification courses โ€” Showkat Sir has completed all relevant modules and holds certificates for every core PTE skill area.

Crack PTE also offers something almost no competitor in Bangladesh does: a complete range of one-to-one course packages to match every timeline and budget โ€” from a 10-day Score Booster crash course to the comprehensive A-Z programme. You can review pricing and package details directly on the courses page before making any decision.

Navigating Pearson’s online booking system, managing payment with international card requirements, and selecting the right exam type (Academic, UKVI, or Core) can be confusing. Crack PTE handles all of this for enrolled students as part of the service. For a complete breakdown of the PTE exam fee in Bangladesh and what to expect on booking day, AECC Bangladesh’s fee guide is one of the most up-to-date local references available. Important note: Of all the providers listed above, only Crack PTE’s trainer holds verified Pearson certifications across all four PTE skill modules. When your visa application or university admission depends on a specific score, trainer credentials are not a detail to overlook.

Conclusion: The Right PTE Coaching Changes Everything

Choosing the best PTE coaching in Bangladesh is not about finding the largest institute or the lowest price. It is about finding the coaching that will actually get you to your target score, on your first attempt, without wasting months of your life. The three things that matter most are: a certified, expert trainer who understands AI scoring; a personalised approach that addresses your specific weaknesses; and a programme you can access from anywhere in Bangladesh.

Crack PTE is the only programme in the country that delivers all three โ€” backed by verified Pearson certifications, a documented 90%+ improvement rate, and a trainer who stays committed until you achieve your goal. Whether you need 65 for a university offer or 79 in each skill for Australian migration, the path starts with the right coaching.

The exact number can vary depending on your current English level and target score. A free initial consultation with Showkat Sir helps determine the right plan for you before you commit to any programme.
Many Bangladeshi test-takers find PTE Academic more manageable than IELTS for several reasons: it is fully computer-scored with no human examiner bias, results arrive within 48 hours, and the AI-based scoring rewards consistent technique over general language proficiency. Students who struggle to exceed IELTS 5.5 often achieve the equivalent of IELTS 6.5 (PTE 58) with the right PTE-specific coaching.

PTE Academic is accepted by over 3,900 universities, colleges, and institutions across 70+ countries, including Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, the United States, and Ireland. For Australian skilled migration visa streams (subclass 189, 190, 491), a PTE score of 65 is the typical minimum requirement. Many occupations and points-based pathways require 79 in each communicative skill for maximum immigration points. Crack PTE’s coaching is specifically tailored to help applicants reach the 79+ threshold that unlocks maximum migration points in the Australian EOI system.

PTE Exam Fees in Bangladesh 2026

PTE Academic and PTE Core Exam Fee

The standard PTE Academic exam fee is USD 220 globally. PTE Core (designed for Canadian immigration) is priced similarly at around USD 200โ€“220, depending on the booking date.

PTE Academic UKVI Exam Fee

If you need PTE for a UK visa, you must take the PTE Academic UKVI version. This carries a slightly higher fee โ€” around USD 220โ€“235 โ€” due to UK Home Office compliance requirements.

PTE Home A1, A2, and B1 Exam Fees

PTE Home tests are used for UK family/spouse visas. Fees range from USD 150 to USD 180 depending on the level (A1, A2, or B1).

PTE Exam Fee in USD vs BDT

Pearson charges in USD, but as a Bangladeshi student, you pay in BDT. At the current exchange rate (approximately BDT 125โ€“130 per USD), the PTE Academic fee translates to roughly BDT 27,000โ€“28,600.

๐Ÿ’ฑ
Live rate tip: The BDTโ€“USD rate changes daily. Check the live BDTโ€“USD rate on XE Currency Converter before booking. If the taka weakens between booking and payment, your cost increases.

Real Payable PTE Cost in Bangladesh

The sticker price is never what you actually pay. Three factors push the real cost higher:

๐Ÿ’ฑ Exchange Rate Fluctuation

The BDT-USD rate changes daily. If the taka weakens between booking and payment, your cost increases. Always check the live rate on your bank’s app before booking.

๐Ÿฆ VAT and International Transaction Charges

Some Bangladeshi banks add a 2.5โ€“5% international transaction fee on top of the converted amount. That’s an extra BDT 600โ€“1,200 on a standard PTE Academic booking.

๐Ÿ’น Bank Conversion Charges

On top of transaction fees, banks apply their own conversion markup โ€” typically 1โ€“2% above the mid-market rate. Combined, you could pay BDT 1,500โ€“2,500 more than the base fee.

Real payable estimate: BDT 24,500โ€“27,000 for PTE Academic in 2026.

Additional PTE Charges and Refund Policies

โšก PTE Late Booking Fee

Booking within 48 hours of your exam incurs a late booking surcharge of USD 15โ€“25, depending on availability and center.

๐Ÿ“… PTE Rescheduling Fee

  • โœ”
More than 14 days before exam
    Rescheduling is completely free.
  • !
    Between 7โ€“14 days before exam
    Pearson charges USD 25.
  • โœ–
    Within 7 days of exam
The fee rises to USD 50. Plan ahead.

PTE Cancellation and Refund Rules

  • โœ”
More than 14 days before exam
Full refund minus a processing fee.
  • !
    Inside 14 days
    50% refund only.
  • โœ–
Within 7 days โ€” No refund
Zero refund if you cancel within 7 days.

๐Ÿšซ PTE No-Show Policy

If you miss your exam without cancelling, you forfeit 100% of your fee. This is one of the most costly mistakes Bangladeshi students make โ€” especially when they travel from outside Dhaka and miss their slot due to traffic or delays.

๐Ÿšจ
No-show = full fee lost. If you’re travelling from outside Dhaka, factor in Dhaka traffic and plan to arrive the evening before if possible. Never gamble with your exam slot.

Free Unlimited Score Sending vs IELTS Charges

One major advantage of PTE: score sending to universities and visa authorities is completely free and unlimited. IELTS charges around USD 20โ€“25 per additional score report. If you’re applying to 5+ universities, PTE can save you USD 100+. Read our full PTE vs IELTS comparison guide to see every advantage side by side.

๐ŸŽ
Applying to multiple universities? PTE’s free unlimited score sending alone can save you USD 100โ€“150 compared to IELTS. Factor this into your total cost comparison.

Hidden Costs of Taking the PTE Exam in Bangladesh

๐Ÿ’ฑ Currency Conversion Fees

As covered above, budget an extra BDT 1,500โ€“2,500 for bank and conversion charges on top of the base fee.

๐Ÿ“š Coaching and Mock Test Costs

Quality preparation is not optional. Most students spend BDT 5,000โ€“20,000 on coaching. At Crack PTE, the Focused Batch (max 3 students) costs BDT 6,500 โ€” highly competitive for the results delivered.

Rakibul Ahmed scored 79+ after failing IELTS twice โ€” all within one focused preparation cycle at Crack PTE.

โ€” Rakibul Ahmed, Crack PTE Student

๐ŸšŒ Dhaka Travel and Accommodation Costs

All PTE test centers in Bangladesh are in Dhaka. If you live outside the capital, budget BDT 2,000โ€“8,000 for travel and possibly one night’s accommodation.

๐Ÿ›‚ Passport Renewal Costs

Your passport must be valid on exam day. If it expires within 6 months, renew it first. Passport renewal in Bangladesh costs approximately BDT 3,000โ€“5,000 and takes 2โ€“4 weeks.

Actual Total Cost of Taking PTE in Bangladesh

How to Pay the PTE Exam Fee in Bangladesh

๐Ÿ’ณ Paying Through International Credit or Debit Cards

The easiest method is a dual-currency credit or debit card issued by a Bangladeshi bank. You must have foreign currency endorsement (FCE) activated on your card before attempting payment.

๐Ÿฆ Best Bangladeshi Banks for PTE Payment

B

BRAC Bank

BRAC Bank Visa/Mastercard credit cards are widely accepted by Pearson’s payment gateway. Endorsement is straightforward โ€” visit any branch with your passport.

C

City Bank

City Bank’s American Express and Visa cards work well for international payments. Their online banking also allows easy FCE activation.

E

EBL

Eastern Bank Limited (EBL) debit and credit cards have high success rates for Pearson PTE payments, with minimal transaction failures reported.

๐Ÿ“‹ Dual Currency Card Endorsement Process

  • 1 Visit your bank branch with your passport
  • 2 Request foreign currency endorsement for travel/education
  • 3 Specify the amount (USD 250 is sufficient for PTE Academic)
  • 4 Use the card within the endorsement validity period

๐Ÿค Paying Through Local PTE Registration Partners

Some local education agencies offer to book PTE on your behalf. This can work, but adds an agent fee of BDT 1,000โ€“3,000. Always verify the agency is listed on Pearson’s official website.

โš ๏ธ Common PTE Payment Failure Reasons

โœ– Card not endorsed for international transactions
โœ” Visit bank โ€” activate FCE with your passport
โœ– 3D Secure OTP not received in time
โœ” Update registered mobile number at your bank
โœ– Daily transaction limit not increased
โœ” Call bank โ€” raise limit to BDT 30,000+ temporarily
โœ– VPN or browser blocking the payment gateway
โœ” Disable VPN ยท Chrome Incognito ยท clear cache & cookies
๐Ÿ”ง
How to fix a failed PTE payment: Call your bank immediately. Increase your international transaction limit, ensure OTP delivery is set to your active number, and try again using Google Chrome in incognito mode.
